It's obvious that the Kerry campaign has seen the recent polling numbers coming from Minnesota. As the president's prospects for winning this state's 10 electoral votes get better and better, the Democratic ticket is pandering like never before. Although we thought it couldn't get any worse, it has. Last Tuesday, Sen. John Edwards told folks in Hibbing that he and Sen. John Kerry would fight for their right to "go in the national parks and national forests and ride on a snowmobile." Although I agree with what Edwards said, this, according to his own campaign's Web site, is not a promise a Kerry administration would keep. Let me quote www.johnkerry.com: "John Kerry will reinstate the Clinton Administration's phase-out of noisy and polluting snowmobiles that have been overrunning some of our most precious lands, including Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park."

They're lawyers, enough said!
HUGE Bobby Zimmerman BUMP!
And stupidest...they want to ban snowmobiles?
Edward's late appearance in DFL dominated Northern MN is a hint at the Kerry campaign's gloomy appraisal of its own prospects. Having to defend Wellstone Country on the verge of an election is bad news for Democrats.
This campaign is amazing. Not only are the Dems having to defend in Wellstone country, they're barely even in Hawaii. And this morning I heard that New Jersey is a dead heat!!
I detect a note of quiet (maybe not so quiet) desperation creeping into the liberal media mouthpieces and sockpuppets. Just read that the DNC has had to import funds to defend Sod Poodle Daschle in SD. (Wonderful . . . great time to be alive!)
"Yes, a snowmobile ride for everyone in Minnesota. You have to wear a special winter suit like this."
/sarcasm off
bttt
No, but they want to ban their use in places such as Voyageurs National Park. This has long been an area of real contention in Northern Minnesota.
The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness is also out of bounds for snowmobilers as federally designated wilderness land.
Amazing that this didn't get more press coverage. Maybe it has in MN, but not nationwide.
I'm from central TX, what is this "snow" you speak of?
