128th Supplies

The 680 soldiers from the 128th infantry, from Western Wisconsin, recently found out they will depart next month overseas, most-likely to Iraq.

Several members of the unit contacted Rep. Ron Kind and told him that the infantry doesn't have enough supplies to do their job effectively, and Kind has informed the powers that be to help get more supplies for the soldiers.

"I've told Pentagon officials that there's no way that they're going to be dropping the 128th in Baghdad expecting them to wear blaze orange this time of year. They need the issue that enables them to do their job as safely as possible. That includes the boots, the desert camo, and the weapons that they're going to have to rely upon once they get over there," said Kind.

Kind says soldiers should not have to worry about whether they have enough supplies to do their job effectively and thinks the system needs to be improved.

Could there be upper ranking personnel trying to make Bush look bad?

Enlisting aid of generals / looms large as Bush, Kerry battle over national security.

Rep. Ron Kind is a Democrap. Does raise the question if he really got called, or is just trying to make W look bad.

This news story told me nothing. Supplies? What kind? How many? Are they one order? Were they ever ordered?

Nothing like going outside your chain of command before a major deployment. These putzheads don't even know the kind of equipment they'll be issued.

This story doesn't pass the smell tests. Weapons ?? What other weapons do they need ? Supplies ?

What many soldiers and leaders fail to realize is that once units come into Kuwait, prior to getting into Country, they are issued more stuff.

Units leaving Iraq drop much of their stuff off in Kuwait and it is picked up by units coming in.

As far as upper ranking personnel trying to make President Bush look bad, no I think not, more than likely a couple of soldiers who think they know how to work the system are making waves to try and get some of the new 'gucci gear' that the SOF community has.

Q6 Out

Blaze orange?

Hard to believe they would be sent into Indian Country wearing blaze orange.

Smell test time.
