The terrorists are barking way up the wrong tree. Japan has told its citizens to stay out of Iraq, and the Japanese shun anyone who disobeys as a "troublemaker." If this gentleman was not supposed to be there, and he makes it out alive, he will be "welcomed" back to Japan with anger.

Good observations, especially after the hassle the Japanese Government went through in getting several previous hostages released. Upon returning to Japan, instead of showing how relieved and happy they were to be home and appreciative of their Government's efforts, they simply stated that they wanted to go back to Iraq. They pretty much lost all credibility and sympathy among their countrymen for that. I think the Government even threatened to send them a bill for the efforts to free them (a couple hundred thousand dollars or so).

This guy with his long hair is no Jieitai soldier. Who is he and why is he in Iraq??
