Someone noted that it would take approximately 40 trucks to transport such a stockpile.
They also noted that (to date) we have destroyed over 4,000 equivalent truck loads from around the country and that there is probably another 100 years of searching to find a potential of still another 4000 truck loads buried in that country.

This may be an unintended consequence of the Memogate scandal: News organizations don't want to get scooped by bloggers, so rather than just parroting other outlet's news, they actually (gasp) investigate it.
There's a limited market. News orgs start slamming other orgs in an attempt to increase their market share. The by product is that we actually get news orgs policing themselves.
Score another victory for the Pajama Patrol.

By any means, this current state of affairs should leave no doubt in anyone's mind that some of the most influential members of the "mainstream" media are steadfastly aligned with John Kerry and his DNC cronies this year, just as they have been in years past with other left-wing presidential candidates. As far as influence being peddled in this scandal, don't forget to include the good old United Nations. They were willing participants.....

Does anyone have any idea why the Bush people are responding so feebly to all of this?

This was a planned and coordinated effort between the kerry campaign, the dnc, the MSM and the IAEA(UN). A fact that many may not be aware is that cbs had
planned to air this information on Sunday Oct. 31st, just 2 days prior to the election. kerry had an ad out today talking about the stockpile of weapons. Does anyone really believe that they were able to develop, prepare, record and distribute this ad in less than 2 days?
The MSM overlooked the fact that an embedded reporter was with the 101st Airborne. He was no longer employed by the MSM (nbc) and could not be silenced. Thus he was able at a minimum to bring questions up about the validity of the IAEA report.

The New York Times call it an exclusive. Its a crying shame that the NYT cannot be dissected for this.

Does anyone have any idea why the Bush people are responding so feebly to all of this? I don't believe that they should, this is SO obviously a biased, johnny-come-lately story with NO investigative journalism.

Just when you thought the CBS/NYT/MSM could not go any lower, they go and exceed all expectations! I thought the Bush dwi revelations right before the election set the standard for low 4 years ago.
To: CHARLITE
Just one question.
Were those HE's in the story on the proscibed list of conventional weapons that Saddam wasn't supposed to have?

The dummy libs may have tipped their oh so biased hand to the country at large who have had to hear the "Bush lied about WMDs" mantra for three years.
Consider....if explosives can be stolen/missing/transported to Syria, cannot the same be said for WMDs? After all, our troops didn't get there until OVER A YEAR after Bush declared war. That's plenty of time to hide the goods.

So now there are THREE sure things in life: death, taxes, and liberals stooping to new lows.

Brit's panel (Krauthammer, Mara and Mort) on Special Report (correctly) made the observation that the administration needs to fight back and defend itself. They simply can't rely on the media to be fair and make corrections. Cheney has responded on the ammo story but the president has never directly addressed it as Kerry whines on and on about the big "blunder' knowing it's a bloody lie. The stakes are just too high in this countdown. Fight back Mr. President!
