Bush sued over Abu Ghraib abuse
Sydney Morning Herald, SMH.Com (Australia) ^ | October 27, 2004 | Page Tools

A coalition of small leftist political groups today sued US President George W Bush and other American government officials for the abuses against prisoners at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

The suit was filed at the Santiago Court of Appeals, which did not immediately decide whether it will accept to hear it.

Filing the suit were the Communist Party, the Humanist Party and Leftist Revolutionary Movement.

Also mentioned in the suit were Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of State Colin Powell, Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and former Iraq Administrator Paul Bremer.

"We want Bush to be questioned when he comes here," in November for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation council summit, said lawyer Juan Enrique Prieto.

"According to international law, Bush is not protected by immunity as a chief of state, because the crimes at the prison were crimes against mankind," Prieto said. "Those crimes violated the Geneva Convention and the Convention Against Torture, which both the United States and Chile have subscribed."

Bloody Commies are suing Bush??

Nice....

Uh don't they have to have been directly involved to have standing before a court of law? As in directly affected?

Oh, another lawsuit.

A guy who saved 15 people from the 9/11 attacks is suing the president. He says he coordinated the attack or at least knew it was coming and did nothing.

I think we should all buy stock in Reynolds tinfoil; their stock will go through the roof! LOL

I stopped reading there. Communism and "humanist revolutions" have murdered millions of innocent people. These jackasses are in no position to go around pointing fingers.

That's pretty damn funny. Maybe Edwards can take the case after he is humiliated and without employment. How about bring suit against the communist party for the deaths of 100 million people?

How can you file suit against someone over something that didn't affect you personally?

If you can sue someone for anything they did to a third party, then why don't we hire a lawyer and start sueing Michael Moore for damages against our country with his films/speaking tours, Kerry for lieing about our President, CBS for trying to sway voters by lieing to the American people, and the NYT for the same thing?

It is funny. The court should "accept" the case. When the commies and peaceniks show up, they should be arrested and shot for treason. I can dream.

Sounds cool to me. It will clean up the world and make it a better place without them dirty commies. Need to do some good housekeeping. :)
