As you all know, Dr. Coburn is surging in the polls because people have rejected Carson's malicious campaign commercials.
I called their HQ last week and told them Oklahomans would reject their disgusting tactics, and they basically hung up on me.
Well, I nearly choked on my pizza a moment ago as I saw a new Carson commercial come up. Let me quickly paraphrase it for you.
I'm Brad Carson, I know you are sick of all my negative attacks during this campaign. From now on I'm going to be positive and talk about issues that matter to Oklahoma.
Let me tell you what Oklahomans heard. I'm sorry I got desperate and slandered my opponent. I am even more sorry that you people did not believe the accusations. My poll numbers are in the toilet and the election is only a week away. Please give me another chance.
I will give Carson some credit though. It takes some getting humbled to make the commercial that I just saw.

It is funny. And I hope no one gives him too much credit for his humility. He should still be punished.

That is good news indeed.

I refuse to believe that Oklahomans will turn back to someone like Carson who is anti-Right to Work. OK is the most recent state to adopt Right to Work status after a long, hard fight. The economic benefits to the state have been tremendous. They would toss that out for a feckless liberal like Carson?
They ain't that stupid...

If you saw the commercial you wouldn't think it would help him much. It looked like an apology. I don't think it will score him any voters. Coburn hasn't made one single personal attack on Carson this whole campaign. Anyone who tries to is contacted by the Coburn campaign and told to stop immediately. People respect Coburn even if they don't agree with him.

Well he is still running negative ads on the radio -- I heard a ton of them on the way to and from the State Capitol today. He is a liar and not a very good one. To me he is sleeze all the way. His internals must look really bad.

From the looks of this commercial he seemed really desperate. It almost seemed as if he knew he was going to lose, but he didn't want Oklahomans to not like him anymore. Maybe he is thinking about the future.

I just do not see it, for reasons given as well as the fact that GOA is behind Coburn.

Carson negative ad against Dr. Tom just aired on the baseball broadcast. Now his negative ads are on the TV again too! Boy that didn't last long!

Rasmussen has Coburn up by 5 and has moved the race to likely GOP. SUSA has him up by about 5 or 6 also.

OK, now I have seen it all. I just saw an attack commercial on Coburn, followed immediately by the Carson commercial promising no more attacks. This is getting hilarious.

I wonder if Dale Earnhardt Jr. knows that he is now endorsing Brad Carson? Isn't that his racing decal number in the background of the commercial?

Anyone remember how close the polls were in the Lazio-Clinton senate race in 2000? Anyone remember the ass-whuppin that Clinton laid on him?
Forget the polls. Act as if you candidate is 5 points behind at all times. And get out the vote.

If Coburn wins, I'll send $25 to GOA and $25 to NRTWC. If Coburn loses? You can join one or both of the aforementioned orgs. and help us in the fight. How's that sound?
