He is playing this the same way he played the forged memo scandal at CBS - when the lie has been exposed, comment on it will kill it.
It makes Kerry look really bad - not unlike his constant commenting on the forged TANG documents. He's beginning to get stained with this as the originator.

Kerry pounced too fast and got tangled in his jock strap; maybe GWB will take a more measured approach, get the facts right first and then unload a blast that blows holes through the NYT, CBS and the DNC all in one salvo.
