Please add me to your ping list. This is one of the best articles I've read in a very long time.

Because the double standards of the Left today are not prompted by any sense that the lies and misbehavior they are concealing are wrong, but rather by the fact that the exposure of those lies and misbehavior would be politically inconvenient. .... in fact the Left lives in a moral universe in which there is only one moral virtue, and here it is:

It is good and right for power to be in the hands of the Left.

Wow. There it is. OSC has absolutely nailed the Left. Bravo!

If you want to know what evil the left is actively engaging in, then check out what it is that they are accusing conservatives of doing. That is true shamelessness.

Democrats had come to think of themselves as the ruling class.

That is the mindset that explains all the behavior of the Left since 1994. If they are not in power, then clearly something is deeply, disturbingly wrong with the world, and any means to restore the proper order of things is perfectly acceptable.

The evidence for this was the post-election 2000 perfidy.

I wised up to the Democrats as a force for Evil when I saw what they were willing to put this country through.

I am genuinely concerned about what they have planned for Novemeber 3rd.

This is the most right-on essay about the Democrats that has been written or posted on FR.

It's not Xenocide, it is now sententiacide. The Democrats want stupid people to swallow their pap, and want the rest of us opinially lobotomized either actually or through the courts.

From your post on your link:

if it becomes clear that they cannot get it via the electoral process, they will go underground and start a Leninist style movement and try to plot to take power violently.

The goal of destroying the old America is the most important thing in the world to them, and they will not give up.

I was shaken to my core at what happened post-election 2000.

You may remember several commentators writing at that time (Walter Williams among them) that that behavior by democrats could signal the beginning of a breakup of this country.

I believed that then, and I believe that now.

If you have never read Orson Scott Card's sociopolitical writings, you should begin with this. They are in some ways even better than his fiction.

he's a registered Democrat, by the way.

I think we have a danger period that will be slowly phased out as the leftists and hippies gradually decline in numbers. Objective criteria for running an economy, a foreign policy and one's life make it clear that socialism is a failure. But the unrecalcitrant will continue trying to impose socialism and tear down the old order, and a determined minority can sometimes prevail.

If we can govern, and begin to roll back 70 years of socialism, over the next 2 generations, the left will become a fringe element, still there, but not a danger. If we give them an opening, if they take back the government and impose an increasingly dictatorial government (see Hillary 2008), then they may still win. In that scenario, your concern about a breakup of the republic would be well justified.

I have a lot of faith in the younger generations, much more than in the baby boomers of which I am a member. They are returning to old fashioned values, in spite of the barrage of propaganda they get through popular culture and the education system. We can reverse the Democratic welfare state/anti-american/anti-morality society, but it will take a long time.

King Prout: Thank you very much for the outstanding PING. What a great article for tonite!

(I'm going to refrain from posting on FR until after the election. I think it's best to be out of the way when the furniture is flying.)

This is a great article and I think it hints around a couple of issues that bear more discussion: (1) radical socialism as less a political point of view than as religion, and, (2)the ends-justify-the-means ethics.

I wonder if Mr. Card has read the writings of Saul Alinsky? That's the basis for a lot of this kind of "ethical" thinking. I suspect that he has.

You'd be surprised. There are many Democrats, particularly in the south who do not fit within the definition of "hard left". Unfortunately, there aren't enough. At least right now.

It would not surprise me if he has.
Uncle Orson specializes in presenting tales of interacting moral dilemmas masqueraded as sci-fi or horror fiction.
an adept writer.

Simply outstanding. Quite possibly the best dissertation regarding what the Left is all about that I have ever read.

I'm pinging a few other FReepers who might be interested in reading this article (which I highly recommend).

Fantastic article. Spot-on. It says all of the thing we instinctively sense, and does so in a connect-the-dots fashion that even an idiot could understand.

I'd say this should be required reading before pulling a lever in a week, but note that I said idiots could understand it - not zombies.
