It's not as bad as it seems. I believe there are valid reasons for the lack of signs -- The signs are either stolen or Bush/Cheney supports don't want to attract a very real concern of vandalism.
Imagine if all those cars with rainbow stickers started getting vandalized! It would be the story of the decade in SC. Republicans are afraid of getting vandalized and that's just the way things are.
