On one level, this is a "private" matter. But can you imagine the media firestorm, if, for example, it turned out that George and Laura were shacking up for the first two years? Or that George was living with another woman before he married Laura? There is no way the Press would "respect his privacy."
Exactly! Two parties, two different sets of rules! This country is becoming more Orwellian by the day -- "All pigs are created equal, but some pigs are more equal than others." Scary.
