Well I read your response with its big red type and caps and understand your urgency. Don't know about the rest of you, but I've spent months biting fingernails and fretting about Dem vote fraud and the media bias.
But now we have THE WHOLE WORLD working against Bush what with this leak and The London Guardian's assassination suggestions.
The problem is the President can't do as you suggest. Though I often wish he would.
If Bush did as you suggest he would be skewered and hung out to dry. I'm supposing it's only this forum, the New Media so to speak, that can keep getting this message out.
It's not so much the NYT is biased, that group of horrid metrosexuals that envisions itself as the benchmark of international wisdom. It's that these Old Media outlets are still PERCEIVED by the vast majority of Americans as the last word on what is going on in the world.
The solution is have these Old Media outlets HAVE to fairly present their bias, right up front and first thing.
Thus CBS would have to proceed their 60 Minute hit pieces with a blurb "Attention, this presentation is a left wing hit piece". Or the NYT should have a blurb in their masthead "The New York Times, giving you the left wing International aspect of the news".
Have you ever noticed that magazines often have full page inserts that don't quite look like the advertisements they are? But at the very top of the page there is the word "advertisement" written repeatedly. This is because there is a law covering this that the public not be deceived.
Thus should be the Old Media, yea even the New Media except most know where FreeRepublic or Rush Limbaugh is coming from.
It's the PERCEPTION that such as CBS and NYT are fair and balanced purveyers of news that must be changed.
That being the case, the major print media should have the word 'advertisements' on top of Page One.
The public should stop supporting the MSM, but they won't. Life is a drag!!!
