Drudge says NBC has repudiated the missing explosives story. Don't expect any correction/retraction from the MSM-it's in a fight for it's life and the CBS phony memo story was only the tip of the iceberg. The MSM will ignore or deny the NBC report, and the Kerry faithful continue flogging the story. Expect more false news before 11/2 that will get maximum exposure and may or may not be shown false by election time. President Bush's re-election is going to have huge social and cultural consequences, even beyond national security and judicial appointments. The MSM will have to clean up its act or become a national joke-even more than it already is.
I am in line with your thoughts 100% Never in my life have I been so scared that our life will be changed due in part to the evil of those willing to say and do anything to win and those that are of good that will allow it to happen without a fight.
Thank you--concur completely. As a matter of fact (or education or literary criticism or whatever you want to call it), try reading the Times article for plain old journalistic integrity. It deliberately conceals times, dates, and sources. It's a hit-piece, pure and simple.
What really ticks me off is the fact that even Fox News is running with this story.
One would think that after the revelation of embedded NBC reporters that the weapons were GONE when US troops arrived in Iraq in March/April 2003, FOX NEWS would be leading with that as their top story instead of simply repeating the lies and tripe in the NY Times and AP.
Sometimes Fox has it's head up its butt just like the partisan news outlets.
NBC ran the story last night and CNN also has it, if you want to go their web page. This is fact. The explosives were not there when the troops arrived. Confirmed by NBC embedded news personel. The times of course is ignoring that and running the story again today. I guess they want to really get slapped down. They are just digging a deeper hole for themselves.
ABC News Radio just reported the TRUTH about this "poo poo Qa Qaa" ammo dump. They actually played a clip from an IAEA spokesman extolling that the weapons were missing BEFORE we invaded, and the the US Military could not have secured what did not exist at the time we arrived at the dump.
LLS
Here is an interesting side-note to this story. Check out the article by The NY Sun http://www.nysun.com/article/3783
The head of the IAEA is playing politics and is trying to get the Bush Administration out of the way so he can have a third term.
The second point to make is that sKerry is once again showing his hand as to how he will deal with problems.
"Senator Kerry's aides told Reuters recently that they, too, would like to see Mr. ElBaradei replaced, but they would be sensitive to the ruffled feelings in the Arab world and other "political consequences."
sKerry has no spine. He will run the opposite direction when faced with problems.
This is great. We can throw it back on Kerry by pointing out the fact that the reason we didn't go into Iraq sooner was because we were too busy going to the UN to try to pass a "global test."
Thank you the link. Very interesting! Politics, never! Why would we ever think that politics would have anything to do with an issue of this nature being placed on the front page of the New York Times just days before an election?
Fox is not always as fair and balanced as they pretend. To be fair you must tell the truth and that does not mean that they need to allow the lie be told once again. If it is a lie, then it should be pointed out as that, regardless of party.
Interesting, because MSN.com (MSNBC) has absolutely nothing. No mention at all.
Foxnews.com still has misleading headlines, but does report the official line -- that the explosives were already gone when the troops arrived.
I think this one is still in progress.
Yes, she is. LOL
I don't think the MSM will ever correct the story. It will simply die. There is a possibility that Bush or the campaign will rib the NYT again.
I notice that the "real" 60 Minutes is up to its eyeballs in this. So much for their superiority.
Looks like the fake explosive story blew up in the partisan MSM face.
I contacted my local paper to ask for a correction concerning this topic and the editor stated that not until AP gave him the go ahead would he do so. How great is that?
The editor is a liberal wimp.
Agree. I have little or no respect for him or his judgement.
