Pat Boone does a perfect job of explaining how most Americans really feel.

His others have been a little long-winded, but he really nailed it here.

thanks for the post. good stuff here. why does boone
use the term 'humanist liberal'? i find this intriguing. does it imply that there are god-fearing liberals who are misguided? or is this simply a qualifier that is superflous?

"Middle America (not just geographically but sociologically) sees George W. Bush as another Harry Truman. And not just because he has become a tough, gritty commander in chief, leading us into a controversial pre-emptive war against global terrorism but because he represents and champions the moral values that have defined America since its beginnings and given us our character and identity in the world."
I love it.

Liberals often assume they're right, and anything to the contrary is just noise.

Ironically, this is one of Boone's "less verbose" editorials.

Good article, w. I just found out that PB was a Conservative, W-supporter. I grew up with some of his tunes in the 50s, but can't remember any of them. Maybe I need another adult beverage? Duh...

If somebody ever compared Jacques Querri to Harry Truman, he would be have a photo op the next day showing him on the back of train with a seersucker suit and a hat on!

and praying for President Bush is the most important thing of this matter, like Bush said at the last debate " I don't need to know if people are praying for me, I JUST FEEL IT "
No matter how much money is spent on defeating BUSH, no matter what the HOLLYWOOD CROWDS say about him, no matter what is said about him in the NEWS,, BUSH IS Gods choice, and as long as GOD is on our side, BUSH can't be defeated.

Pat Boone understands us the same way we understand the president and the president understands us. Conservatives are interconnected in a way liberals aren't. Liberals are terrified of that connection.

why does boone use the term 'humanist liberal'?This is not a superfluous qualifier. If anything, it's not precise enough. The correct term is "secular humanist". When used in this context, the adjective "liberal" is what becomes superfluous, as the secular humanist worldview is almost always held by those with "liberal" political views.

Not to mention Pat is a committed Christian. His daughter Debbie sang that song "You Light Up My Life" about her faith in Jesus.

' The correct term is "secular humanist". '
thanks. i understand this term all too well. i thought pat might be saying that there might still be some semblance of help for non-humanist liberals, or as i call them, poor misguided god fearing people. your term makes things crystal clear.
