Well it isn't like NM, IA, Wisc, MN were blue states by huge margins and Kerry has blown it. Those states aren't really blue states...they are BATTLEGROUND states. If Kerry WASN'T there I'd think he was having serious problems. The fact that he is there means he realizes it was too close in 2000 and he's wanting to try to take them this time.
Now Michigan and Hawaii spells huge trouble for Kerry. If Kerry were to go to Michigan we'd know he was tanking big time. I still think he will tank but not because he's hitting states Gore won by a few dozen votes.
I can tell you for a fact that Wisconsin is a battleground state--the margin for Gore in 2000 was under 6000 votes (around 5700, I do believe--with voter irregularities). The margin in NM was under 500 votes. All these states are tighter than a tick.
Kerry is in Michigan right now! Macomb County. Reagan Democrats country.
In the 2000 election there were 5,000 more votes cast in New Mexico than registered voters. There is no telling just how many more bogus votes will be cast there this time.
I'm afraid this election is already stolen.
But conversely he isn't campaigning in many states Bush carried by slim margins. He pulled out of WV.
