"Even the SAT will tell you that Bush's 1200+ SAT in 1964 would be 1350 today. Is 1350 enough for Yale today?"

Not according to the SAT folks. Here's the breakdown of median SAT scores at various universities:

Here's the breakdown of median SAT scores at various universities:

Median = Half above, half below. Does the SAT give any data on what percent of scores were at 1500 in 1964 vs 2004 or the median at Yale in 1964 vs 2004? I'd be willing to bet it's changed quite a bit.
