Mountain is a politically incorrect word?

Huh?

Are the hills pissed off or what?

"Why liberals do not abandon the left?"

I thought liberals = left? They are one in the same.

Liberalism is a religion. It requires strong faith. Hard to abandon

"Bleeding-heart Syndrome: Liberals believe that because of their ideology, they are the only ones with exclusive contracts with compassion and sense of humanity. They feel good about themselves by their constant talk about the needs of their special interests groups. They think that without their self-absorbed liberal ideas they would appear heartless. But typically their seemingly compassionate programs involve spending other people’s hard-earned money. "

No kiddin'. My mother lived and died this way. She had to look in the mirror and see "wonderful, caring person", but her caring was always carefully rationed to fashionable causes which showed up on the press. Go figure.

Liberals have nowhere else to go because your typical liberal has nothing to add to the political discussion in the first place. Modern liberalism thinks that any problem can be solved by one big benevolent entity instead of individuals thinking for themselves, and if that's not anything more than a cop out, I don't know what is.

Democrats assimilate their beliefs by instruction. A Greenie Naderite is more likely to become a strong conservative in 10 years than an assimilated Democrat because, although maybe thinking wrongly now, he has the potential to think for himself and evaluate his position...evolve.

For instance, a Democrat might believe that nuclear fuel is the worst poison on earth today but if he is instructed tomorrow that "we should give nuclear fuel to Iran for "peaceful purposes", the new thought will kick the old thought out and the new thought will settle in in its place. Someone who isn't an assimilated Democrat would have some dissonance to work through on that.

When a new viewpoint enters the Republican Party or anywhere else except the assimilated Democrat collective, there is an intellectual battle that takes place.

If a new issue crops up that is unrelated to anything assimilated, try asking an assimilated Democrat what his stance is on that issue and the Democrat will be lost without his instruction and will go through all kinds of mental turmoil trying to relate it to something that he has received instruction on.

This is why "party platform" has more meaning to Democrats than to the rest of us because they assimilate the platform while Republicans try to understand each other, sometimes bite the bullet and cut deals, and realize that we are all individuals with different outlooks.

They arent' misled, don't blame the bubble. They really DO want to have devient sex and abort babies and install communism and now Islam over us. It's shocking but true. No sarcasm here.

Liberals don't abandon the left because they want the "freedom" to kill unborn babies.

Basically, the columnist is telling us conservatives things we already know, but he raises a good point when he refers to Powell and Rice, that the liberals treat them as sell - outs - Maggie Thatcher was, as you know, the first woman Prime Minister of the UK - which you think think should be heralded as a victory for equal rights for women - but because she was a Tory - the Feminazis called her a man in woman's clothes - they simply cannot turn their political beliefs, to hell with them.
