Be careful how you do that. If it looks like ketchup and/or mustard on the cover, people will consider it an autographed copy!
Actually I usually knock the book off the shelf and make sure some pages are nice and dirty. I tore the intro page in half once. Yes yes yes I know some people will be horrified at my illegal behavior BUT fatass is giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
