it's about 350 tons of explosives looted from some arms dump in Iraq. It's going to blame the Administration for leaving it "unprotected" in the early days after the war.
You mean from the WMD the Times said weren't there?
Kerry kept trying to beat this drum during the debate. It is not new news so I think they are going to have to hit it hard and have some new hook to make it stick.
Exactly. Furthermore, this will be given as the reason why 1,000 US soldiers have been killed - It will be trumped high and low as proof positive of why America needs a new Commander -in-Chief.
Already heard this story. Sounds like they're trying to repackage it.
Sounds like the Combatant Commander in the area where the arms dump was dropped the ball. The President isn't going to know where every arms cache, oil refinery, and radar site is.
"350 tons of explosives looted from some arms dump in Iraq"? That's not a small pile of explosives.
It will backfire.
The more in danger Americans feel the more they will move toward Bush.
All the polls show Bush beats Kerry BIG TIME when it comes to the war on terrorism.
Yeah, and what a crock it is. It would have taken every military troop in the US, Russia and China to "guard" all the ammo dumps in Iraq. And those are just the ones we could find.
Saddam hid weapons everywhere.
So, the story about military guarding the museums after the war didn't take hold, so now this?
More criticizing of the military from the Times.
How typical.
We also don't know if Saddam, himself, or his sons didn't order that stuff unsealed and moved somewhere. We know that Zarqawi was already in Baghdad and Saddam knew he was there and where he was located.. wouldn't have taken much to say -- "oh by the way" -- as we rolled into Baghdad.
I'm not denying that the Administration probably knew about this and if there is one thing ALL administrations are famous for is keeping things quiet when the truth would do better --like Oklahoma City Bombing, TWA800, etc.. the collective group of them need to learn that we would trust our government more if they leveled with the public.
