Note the big difference in voter preferences among independents in the Fox poll versus Newsweek.

Greetings, Mogirl - If I'm not mistaken FEC means Federal Elections Commission.

Hello,

I thought that FEC was the Federal Election Commission, I just did not realize that they conducted polls. Color me surprised!

Glad to be here, MOgirl

Don't let ABC, AP, CBS, CNN, FOX, NBC
give the election to Kerry like they did Gore

Doesn't bother me in the least. If it were not for the color, they would find something else to harp on. Human nature, etc.

I could not believe the request to 'graph' the data. Folks have spreadsheets and can import the HTML tables directly and play with the data to their hearts content. I wonder what their 'graph' would show???

I have been working on the Washington Post tracking poll, but they have a bad habit of putting out weekend polls with no internals available on the Washington Post content-server, which means that there is NO way to check on the partisan preferences for critical days. This allows the ABC and Post organizations to 'hide' their internals right before the election, with only the Monday data before the election to be shown, allowing them to correct any 'skews' for Kerry over the weekend. They have been neglecting to show any weekend data since the tracking poll started, with ABC being the worst offender. They put out nothing of value except the end numbers.

We shall see...

So if I'm reading this right (and I might not be), I look at where both Bush and Kerry were in May and then in October, it looks like Bush's numbers have increased but Kerry's have dropped in many cases.

Interesting, the polls split on who has more "Independents", but every single poll has Bush getting more Democrats the Kerry gets Republicans.

My interpretation is that Bush has a more energized base.

I'm impressed with how utterly inconsistent the polls are about the preferences of independents. Those numbers strike me as quite odd.

I can't believe that even 10% of republicans would vote for kerry- OVER WHAT??

I've been getting emails from some outfit called "Republicans for Change." One was written by Dwight Eisenhower's son John, another by some ex-governor of Minnesota. When I try to write them back to tell them any group urging the election of Hanoi John should be called "Republicans for Treason," the reply bounces.
