RBC, 22.10.2004, Moscow 19:13:43.The lower house of Russian parliament has recognized the recent parliamentary elections and a referendum in Belarus as open and democratic. Russian deputies have adopted a corresponding statement today prepared by lawmakers who observed the voting.
The State Duma said in its statement that negative assessments of the elections by some US and European politicians as well as threats to impose discriminatory measures could be regarded as attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the independent state and violation of the norms of international law.
Well, what else would you expect?
What US politicians have criticized the voting and what did they say?
ping!
"The (Russian) State Duma said...that negative assessments of the elections by some US and European politicians as well as threats to impose discriminatory measures could be regarded as attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the independent state..."
Birds of a feather flock together.
BTTT
From BBC News: "US President George W Bush responded to concerns about the election and referendum with the Belarus Democracy Act which provides for sanctions against Belarus....The act calls for the promotion of democracy by supplying aid to non-governmental organisations, helping to establish an independent media and a ban on US federal agencies from giving any financial aid to the country...Belarus foreign ministry spokesman Andrey Savinykh said Belarus could take measures against the US in retaliation."
Good for George Bush!!!
Look at the protestors holding up the communist fist salute.
Compare to:
Hanoi Jane
Hanoi John
Nelson Mandela and Joe Slovo, leader of the South African Communist Party
Fidel Castro
Luka is the commie he dont understand other gestures!
"Luka is the commie he dont understand other gestures!"
Unless they are the usual suspects who can always be counted on to "support" Luka.
You're just going to get yourself in trouble here.
Gee, I wish I could live in Belarus...
I love trouble. Belarus is no paragon of virtue. But the protestors are no angels of freedom either.
