Todays Argus Leader..."Clear Choice: George W. Bush"
A real shock coming from a newspaper that has nearly been Tom Daschle's house organ.
Who have they endorsed for the Senate race this year?
John Kerry is deeply saddened.
YES!!! What did the Rapid City Paper do? GWB and Thune for South Dakota!
If Thune beats Daschle, who becomes the new Senate Minority leader?
Go to the blog..www.daschlevthune.com....there's a very funny puc of TWO uyoung ladies posing with Daschle and really dissing him..I tried to post it here, but failed..
My money is on hillary . I cant see how the Dens can elect anyone else as minority leader. Its a bitter fact but she IS the only leader they have.
From what I have heard, the editor and several members of the board there are good, old friends of Daschle. They have covered for him for decades and pushed him on SoDak, as well.
This is a coup!!!!!!!!!
I was referring to the Argus Leader.
Their shirts read "Get Rid of STD". STD=Sen. Tom Daschle.
Beat me to it. Sorry about double-posting the pic.

Nothing here, move along. All the paper did was endorse Bush, who was going to win the state in a landslide anyway, in order to try to help Thune (who, I hope, is going down in a very tight race).
Correct and very true except about Mr Thune
it all part of the political game that the paper plays to give its self an unbiased credibility. The Argus Leader and the Abeerdeen paper shill for Daschle so they need a point of contention to point to if someone accuses them of bias for the Dems
In a low population State like SD, the media tries to play the middle. It's not good for business to be offensive to half the State.
It depends on how many of their candidates get elected. Reid is an assistant leader, which means that he probably helped recruit candidates. If Daschle loses, but the Democrats get to 50 or 51, then Reid probably gets elected. If they drop to 46 or so, then he probably gets dumped, and it winds up Christopher Dodd (or maybe Joe Biden or Evan Bayh). Hillary won't run for it because it's pretty hard to run for higher office as the minority leader.
The Aberdeen American News and the Rapid City Journal haven't endorsed anyone yet (well the AAN endorsed Herseth but no one for president). The Argus Leader endorsement isn't really about George Bush, it's about cover for endorsements of Daschle/Herseth.
Fortunately, newspaper endorsements don't mean that much. I think that the LA Times is right to not endorse anyone.
