This article is a good reminder of THE MASSIVE and mostly UN-SUNG work done

As much of a weasel as security-guy Richard Clarke is, I shake my head in amazement
that this hasn't happened in the USA, U.K., Australia, Poland, etc.
And having been a long-term Oklahoman who know enough about the truck-bombing of
Murrah Building in Oklahoma City...I still shudder every time I go to
Los Angeles International Airport, knowing that any determined puke really could
have a decent shot at running a truck bomb into the place (given the airport's configuration).

Only the noble, day-and-night vigilance of a lot of dedicated guards keeps us from
suffering a catastrophe.

The sort of catastrophe that someone like John Forbes Kerry would just consider
a really extreme example of a "nuisance".
