UH HUH yea right
Thanks for the ping!
These are just a few examples that I've seen. My sister, who lives in Virginia, has called me more than once with eye popping people-out-of-control stories. There's something very wrong going on across this country. Almost like there is something we've all been exposed to and the effects are now being manifested.
I know...I know...tin foil hats and all that.
People acting crazy ping.
"because I didn't have required background"
Didn't you know that you were required to excel in either boxing or wrestling lessons?
What is this garbage with all these social workers in the schools. No wonder the darn places are costing so much.
As for the teacher...bye, bye!
>>> He said he could not comment on whether Amica had signed in as a visitor at the front office. Local and state school policy dictates that visitors go to schools' front offices before entering classrooms. <<<<
Look at this! there already looking to place blame and charge the parent!
Exactly. And another example of Republican dirty tricks to keep the teacher from voting. I just read all about it on DU.
The little girl and her mom, a staunch Republican, hatched the plot the night before. The girl planned to make a disturbance with her bookbag knowing the teach would take it and thrown it in the trash. The little girl had told her mom the night before the teacher always throws stuff in the trash (mostly wadded up paper but in the trash just the same).
The parent waited in the hall secretly until she overheard the thud of the book bag in the trash. The girl and her mom knew the teacher was very upset at the prospect of being disenfranchised. That was part of the plot too. The parent had her daughter ask the teacher what it meant the week before. After looking it up in the New York Times, the teacher came into school the next day very aggitated.
It is all a plot I tell you. Another Republican dirty trick to steal the election again. Well, that is what they are saying on DU anyhow.
I am not making this up.
Something has to be up when you can't even have a Republican sticker on your car w/o it getting keyed or the windows broken, or people minding their own business in a campaign office have to endure union thugs or shots coming thru the window.
Since when did we become a 3rd world country where you can't have a difference of opinion when it comes to politics w/o worrying about getting shot or having your property destroyed?
People have no sense of personal control, decency or honor. Makes me wonder where we're going as a nation.

I agree -- homeschooling is the only way.
Georgia has a major problem in recruiting and keeping teachers. When I got ready to retire from the military...I actually sent them a resume. I have a bachelors degree and 20 years in the air force...but zero educational background. These folks were willing to overlook my "shortfalls", and actually talked of a job. I found a better paying job and turned down the teachers job. I later asked a teacher from Alabama why the retention problem, and she indicated that alot of teachers in Georgia come in, and move on within four years. No one stays long-term. Combination of unqualified folks and big-money draw from Atlanta. I asked what she meant by unqualififed and she said that there was actually a teacher hired a few years ago there...that they discovered half-way through the school year that her degree was totally bogus. The school was happy with the individual...and they at least kept her till the end of the school year...before telling her to leave.
I still remember my 8th grade teacher picking up a kid and throwing him bodily across the room... not a pretty sight. I had a female teacher in the 7th grade that was a raving manic... kids shouldn't be subjected to his kind of behavior at home or school.
HEY PEOPLE!!! Plan on MORE of the same kind of teachers every year! Good teachers are dropping like flies and finding other professions! WHY?
BECAUSE WE DON'T PAY THEM!
Do you really want $30,000/year people teaching your kids? That's what many teachers make year!
POP QUIZ:
Guess who is filling the positions when quality teachers leave the profession?
A) Wackos like the gal in the story
B) Unqualified do-gooders who may want to make a difference but don't have a clue
C) Kids out of college looking for their first job
D) MORE WACKO's
E) All of the above
Answer: E of course
If you want PROFESSIONALS---PAY for quality in this profession!!
Our nuns routinely threw erasers at kids across the room. I had a piano teacher (another nun) who whacked my knuckles with a conductor's baton everytime I hit a wrong note.
One reason nuns got away with that stuff is that if you went home and told your parents Sister hit you, you'd probaby get another smack because your parents figured you'd done something to deserve it.
I don't know how many parents still think that same way anymore. And looking at how something can really go wrong (what if Sister put your eye out with that eraser?), the possibility of litigation make old fashioned discipline a little expensive.
I'm all for discipline, and every now and then I shed a tear for the old ways, but brutalizing children in school just is not necessary.
You're right schools are NOT safe anymore!
Good teachers are leaving!
And why not? They are barely paid to stay and have to put up with more bull than you can possibly imagine...from the kids (who are way out there these days) from the admin (who are uptight as ever) and from parents (who are...well... parents...enough said there)
WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO WORK IN THIS PROFESSION AND GET PAID BARELY ENOUGH TO LIVE ON WITH OUT A SECOND OR THIRD JOB!?
So guess what...school districts are hiring anyone who will do the job... sigh...what do people expect?
You are right on! This is the real problem!
In New York City teachers make $70,000 a year. That's not enough?
