That fits in with my armchair analysis. North Korea with nukes is of no advantage to China. Like you said, it is only encouraging South Korea, Japan and Taiwan to go nuclear also.

A twist in the theory is that US and China are working together to get rid of Kim.

A nuclear N. Korea will lead to nuclear S. Korea, Japan, and possibly Taiwan. Basically, the US non-nuclear proliferation policy will be no more. Every other third world country with the capability will want to build a bomb. Brazil come to mind.
