I already have my mind made up on Proposal 2. Proposal 1, I'm having a hard time understanding. Not with the wording, etc., but when we have a democrat governor saying vote NO, I would normally vote the opposite. Granholm says our taxes will go up. Which taxes? Property, sales, gas, cigarettes? It's not clear. I'm not a gambler, but there is a small town next to me that wants to put in a casino.
Additionally, Jack divorcing Diane doesn't change the definition of marriage, Steve marrying Bruce does.
Granholm is lying. No surprise there. I just heard her ad broadcast on the Fox affiliate during the Lions-Giants game. "I inherited a $2 billion deficit." Yeah, thanks for pointing out that we need to return Republican control of both houses, the state Supreme Court, and the governor's mansion, as well as increasing Republican majorities in both houses of Congress, and reelecting the President.
Proposal 1 sez that local control over the construction of casinos rests locally, not in Lansing. Granholm wants centralized control.
Note that the Indian casinos aren't restricted by this, so the Indian casinos want this measure passed, because competition won't help them at all.
The educational funding issue Granholm raises REALLY doesn't make sense. She claims that local control will somehow mean fewer people playing the lottery, which pumps a whopping $100+ million dollars into the public educational system, or rather what passes for one.
The remedy is -- pass Proposal 1, and in 2006, dump Granholm, preferably in the primary. She is very vulnerable, and there will be at least one viable Dim opponent (I mean, other than the corrupt, repudiated Jim Blanchard).
Maybe Fieger would run again. Great trick, running Fieger against Engler. It's not as if primary voters crossed party lines to make sure he won the primary or anything. ;')

My daughter and her fiance went to the island when Granholm was running for governor, and while on the boat ride to the island, a woman asked my daughter if she was going to vote for her. My daughter told her no, and the woman got up and left. :) I'm a woman, and I would never vote from someone just because a woman was running for an office, and I believe that is what helped her become governor...I hope that Nugent runs in 2006....
I have a copy of the ballot that I printed out from the SOS website, and I'm looking it over trying to decide which Judges to vote for. Those are tough unless you know a little bit about them.

Nicholas Groth, director of the sex offender program, said 85% of the pedophiles were themselves sexually assaulted as youths.
This casts certain parts of the homosexual agenda in a more sinister light – such as the drive to lower the legal age of sexual consent and to expunge sodomy laws from the books. It might also cause parents to wonder why homosexual activists are tireless in their efforts to use the courts as a crowbar to pry open the doors of the Boy Scouts to homosexual troop leaders.
Again, it would be unfair to imply that all – or even most – homosexuals are a threat to children. Nevertheless, there are some elements of the homosexual movement which openly endorse pedophilia. And opening the social "doors" to all homosexual groups will allow pedophile groups in as well.
What will research show in ten years? twenty years? Will we discover that we have handed over an entire generation of young people, only to discover that the percentages of homosexuals in this nation has doubled or tripled?
If it is true, as evidence suggests, that children can be recruited into the homosexual lifestyle, what will history say about a generation of adults that swallowed – hook, line and sinker – the lies fabricated by the very ones who abused their children?

All anyone with common sense need do is ask themselves the question ... "Why are they after the children" youth groups etc.?!?
