I just received this from a friend of mine in the Pa Republican Party. He asked me to get it out there.
This is the note that was attached to the article: I have attached an AP article that shows you what we are doing to express our outrage at Rendell's actions. Email your friends to alert them to his attempt to suppress the military vote and encourage them to call the Governor's office and express their outrage and they should say what county they reside in. Also, they should call talk radio to keep this going. Thanks.
I did a search and did not see it posted.
So, keep calling the Governors office and talk radio.

We need to hammer these people on this stuff. And we don't need to give a single concern whatsoever to how they may react, and the names they'll call us, and the complaints they'll register with the media. Just do the right thing, call things as they are, follow up aggressively on all voter fraud issues, and win this election.

But I thought that there was that back-up system in place for all vets overseas where if anyone sent for their ballot on time but didn't get one can get a ballot printed out from a computer printer and send that back... or am I wrong?

Just sent Rendell this email and am calling now.
I am a veteran. I was a veteran that usually voted for the Democratic Party. Never more. I cannot fathom why you as the Governor of Pennsylvania would intentionally disenfranchise the brave men and women fighting for our country. Your party, the Democratic Party ties up the issue in the courts just long enough to ensure a timely mailing of absentee ballots to our fighting service members would be delayed. Now you seem satisfied with your accomplishment and refuse to help them with an extension. Im disgusted and will energetically support Republicans in the future. You and the PA Democratic Party should be very ashamed of yourselves.

Thousands of military personnel from Pennsylvania serve in Iraq and other hot spots around the globe.Interestingly enough: the outraged friends and familes of these unjustly disenfranchised American servicemen and women have a golden opportunity to use their anger towards the 'Rat party, this election cycle... :)

Is it just me, or did the article barely mention that the current ballots may be bad because of Nader's name on them?

This is only the tip of the deceit. My 82 year old mother was just informed that her absentee ballot will be thrown out because Nadar's name was originally included, and now it has been taken off by Demonrat judges. That's 16,000 ballots tossed by this stupid state. Now she'll have to get up on her crippled legs and vote on election day. And I'll be right beside her making sure no DemonRat goons give her a hard time. Or they meet the mighty fists of Doc Savage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

=======
Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell is trying to suppress military votes for President Bush by failing to push for an extension of the deadline to accept overseas military and civilian ballots.
Military personnel traditionally vote Republican. Gov. Rendell and the Pennsylvania Democratic Party appear to be disenfranchising the fighting men and women of our state for pure political gain
Thousands of military personnel from Pennsylvania serve in Iraq and other hot spots around the globe. Pennsylvania law required the state's counties, which run the election system, to start mailing absentee ballots to military and civilian voters in remote parts of the world by Aug. 24. All other overseas ballots were to be sent starting Sept. 20. The ballots did not go out because the state Democratic Party tied up the Ralph Nader issue in the courts. The ballots went out in October.
In Pennsylvanias April 27 primary, Rendell successfully sought court orders to extend the deadline for absentee ballots from military families and overseas voters until May 17 which was three weeks after the election.
Now Gov. Rendell should again ask the courts to extend the deadline for counting absentee military votes until Nov. 17, something the governor has refused to do. All our states service members are asking for is two more weeks. They deserve to have a fair chance of voting.
=======
Thank you for your consideration. We enjoy and rely on your paper!
Respectfully yours,
me
