Metal sign, schedule 40 plastic pipe for the stake, fence charger. Drill a hole in the pipe at ground level, and run the line up inside the pipe to the sign bolts so it isn't apparent.

I do not want to injure any kids that may screw with it. I put a plastic bag filled with Red fox Urine, and stapled it inside my sign, and then poked a bunch a little hole above the urine line. If it is taken the their car will smell forever.

Here's an idea for an Infrared water trap to protect your sign. Get a Infrared activated light and screw a plug socket in place of the bulb. Plug a water sprinkler valve in to the light and aim your choice of sprinkler at your sign. Just to kick-it up a notch you can add your choice of water soluble liquid clothing dye into the house before you connect to sprinkler.
