An alarming 76 percent of workers are coming back to work drunk after taking a 'liquid lunch,' acording to a new survey carried out by a Peninsula Law survey.
Out of 1342 employees polled, 68 percent said they enjoyed alcholic beverages during lunch.
Even more worrying is that a third of respondants claimed to enjoy a liqid lunch three times a week with 76 percent feeling 'slighly drunk' when returning to work.
Dr. Peter Lone of Peninsula concludes, 'A company's policies must be stated to all employees to ensure that the rules are not broken when it comes to alcohol.'

I geuss its 5 o'clock there all the time. LOL!
76%, eh? Isn't that the same percentage that said they would vote for John Kerry if they could?
I can remember when I started work, 15 years ago (as a cub-reporter), I'd often attend functions in Ireland where it would be almost rude to refuse a drink at lunch time.
Now, I wouldn't dream of having alcohol during the day. For a start, I never drink and drive, and alcohol mid-day just makes me sleepy, and completely ruins my work performance. It's a mugs game.
And the other 25% start after breakfast! (rim shot)
Me too, I would get way too tired with a three martini lunch..almost impossible to function at the office!
This explains a lot about all of europe and their productivity level. It also explains why they allowed their countries to be handed over to the EU on a platter
'Slightly drunk' in England equals collegiate Saturday night keg party in USA..
Part of the socialist system...way to go EU!
I had a temp job many years ago & the other staffers used to go for cocktails every day during lunch. I was answering the phones & could not indulge....until my last day.
Well, in fairness the Irish (and our neighbours, I suppose) were always better at holding our beer! *LOL*
Hope you had fun as payback!
"76 percent feeling 'slighly drunk' when returning to work"
i think brits feel slightly drunk all the time, even without drinking.
Isn't unemployment in the UK really low?
Explains why the Brits never seem to worry about anything.
Maybe this explains all of those Bridget Jones movies..
It was a 3 hour lunch.....
"enjoy a liqid lunch three times a week"
just guessing, but based on the spelling of the word liquid, i would say this article was written and edited in the afternoon.
The headline doesn't fit the article.
