They won't get away with it.

That depends on what the true objectives are. I don't believe this but:

What if the objective is not this election but the next one? Suppose Bush wins with a clear popular and electoral majority and Kerry concedes. We could see hundreds or thousands of law suits at the State, County, and city levels. What happened in Fla. last time scared a lot of folks. Procedural changes enacted to prevent a repeat could well have made things worse. The true crisis may not present itself until late '07 or early '08 as we approach the next election with many "enfranchisement and equal protection" issues unresolved.

I think it is totally conceivable that the DIM party is trying a litmus test for 2008. I believe they will always be looking for the weasel angle. However, I think the "fool me once" saying holds true for the American people. Whatever is attempted (met with ultimate failure) in the arena of voter fraud for this election will provide lessons for all sides. Contrary to the brayings of the elitists and the MSM, the American people are not totally stupid and really resent being duped...

Assuming President Bush is re-elected AND the pubbies retain control of Congress, the first order of business in January should be repeal of "motor voter." Then purge all voter rolls in all fifty states and require everyone to reregister IN PERSON at leasy thirty days before the next election they want to vote in.

The various election comissions can send certified people around to nursing homes, malls, and to shut-ins to accept registrations. Military personnel may register by mail. Registration-for-pay companies should be outlawed. Require photo ID at the polls.

This would be a major step in confronting voter fraud before the democrats get their illegitimate schemes any more thoroughly entrenched.
