This is what is posted on the Sinclair Web Site. They sold their souls. Notice that they state that the Kerry Camp was involved for the past few weeks:

We welcome your comments regarding the special news event “A POW Story: Politics, Pressure and the Media,” Sinclair’s third news special of 2004. The program aired on 40 television stations around the country on Friday, October 22, 2004. The program dealt with a variety of topics including the allegations made by 13 American POWs – including two Medal of Honor winners – about their captivity in North Vietnam. All viewpoints were included in this documentary.

We would like to thank the Kerry Campaign for its participation during the private discussions that took place over a period of weeks. Through the recommendations of senior Kerry Campaign officials, several people closely allied with Senator John Kerry, including his close friend of 40-years and his co-editor of “The New Soldier,” George Butler, participated in the news special.

And this is the preformatted letter to the FCC:

Dear Chairman Powell and Commissioners:

I am writing in support of the broadcast aired by the Sinclair Broadcast Group entitled A POW Story: Politics, Pressure and the Media, which took place on Friday, October 22, 2004. I saw the special one-hour news program and thought that it was an informative, fair, and timely journalistic presentation regarding the role of documentaries and the media in influencing voting in the 2004 presidential election. Contrary to the ill-founded accusations by various partisan groups, attacking a program they had not seen, the news program was not a propaganda piece intended to attack any political figure.

Most importantly, I wholeheartedly support the First Amendment and the right of media organizations, such as Sinclair, to exercise their journalistic judgment in airing programming that they believe to be newsworthy and of interest to their viewers. Sinclair should be applauded for its decision to air intelligent programming that stimulates political debate.

Very truly yours,

And I have been treated humanely during my captivity.
