This is the one key issue where W is WAY off base.

These very comments have peopel who work for Preseidente Fox already forging these cards even though no "real" card even exists. Within hours after W's words are relayed to all of Mexico, a million more wetbacks-to-be started moving to the border.

These illegals don't do "jobs Americans don't want" that is a wetback smuggler's canard. They do jobs that unemployed blacks could/would do! Before the bubble burst to begin the Clinton recession, unskilled, unemployed black kids were getting work experience and almost $10 an hour because that's what the market would provide. Get rid of some/many/most illegals and the pay for unskilled work would climb high enough to be attractive PLUS there would not be the terrible costs to society the most politicians seem blind to.

Would landmines still be considered "humanitarian"?

Yup, I'm sure those words of support from the President for Mexican criminals encourages even more to cross the US border illegally and await President Bush's lawbreaker reward card!

Jobs Americans won't do = minimum wage, no benefits, no health insurance, dead-end, no future, below poverty level, jobs.

If there wasn't a flood of 8 million plus illegal aliens pouring across the southern borders of America, these jobs would have higher standards and pay and they would attract American workers.

Of course the President and his party AND the demoRats all know this...its all a game...

If you think blacks will do the work the Mexican illegals do you should come to Florida and get educated. The blacks will not take these jobs because the governmnet pays them more in relief to do nothing. The Mexicans are happy and willing to work hard to make a living for their families they don't have the attitude that they are owed a living.

**These illegals don't do "jobs Americans don't want" that is a wetback smuggler's canard.**

I am not a 'canary' and we have so few blacks up where I live that if we didn't have UNDOCUMENTEDS to do the work, you would not have those nice yellow chicken pieces at your local grocery store.

The border won't get closed off, so if you want to change the status quo, you'll need to come up with another idea. I emailed the President about the "worker card" so that undocumenteds could at least be paid and have taxes (SS taxes, Fed and State taxes) taken out of their checks. They wouldn't have access to the Social Security, of course, because they are not 'green card' carrying immigrants. BUT you and I would still be able to draw our RSDI when we retire.

I am one of those "some people" who believe in the humane treatment of NONTerrorist Undocumented Immigrants.

I'll stand in line for my opportunity to shoot a Terrorist, but I'll defend the NonTerrorists who just want a better life and a house with a real floor, indoor toilet, clean food, etc.

Something does need to be done, I agree. If you come up with a workable plan, please email the President. I did. Sorry that you don't like my idea.

"who want jobs that go unfilled by U.S. citizens."

"Unfilled" because the Americans would have to be brought in by advertisements and a little leg work. They aren't standing on corners.
