Bush backs temporary work ID for immigrants
OK for jobs unfilled by Americans, he tells Hispanic audience

WASHINGTON - President Bush, saying the United States should find a more humane way to treat immigrants, told a Spanish-language television network Thursday that he supports offering temporary cards to immigrants who want jobs that go unfilled by U.S. citizens.
Bush said the card would provide legal status for undocumented immigrants or those who want to come to the United States to work. But he said he would not offer amnesty.
"I recognize that people are coming here to work," Bush told Univision. "And while they're doing jobs that aren't filled by Americans, I think there should be a temporary worker program and a card that helps the workers and employers who want them."
The president had made immigration reform a priority, but put it on the back burner after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks. He championed immigration reform again in a White House speech in January, but election politics have prevented any legislative action.

You got the balls to say who you work for or the name and address of those employing people that are in our country illegally? Lets hear it?
My mind causing this or does anyone else see it, too???

After reading your above post, it's clear your are nothing but a rah rah, rally groupie, and an illegal alien apologist.....
From the LP platform. I think we should start pointing this out regularly; the same for the free traitors. They call themselves conservatives...hardly. They have hijacked the Republican party; to the dismay of most of the base.
Yes. This is clear.
Amnesty doesn't necessarily include granting U.S. citizenship to illegal alien lawbreakers.
What an asinine comment.
You obviously know nothing about economics. Please, take an introductory course on economics before you make any more ignorant statements on the subject.
So, you work with those illegal alien lawbreakers, huh? By the way, most Americans also want a better life for themselves and their children, but that doesn't give Americans the right to violate the law in order to try to achieve that better life.
The Center for Immigration Studies has put the lie to this fallacy by demonstrating that agricultural workers would have to be paid $250 an hour in order for lettuce to cost $5.00 a head in the grocery store.
That study would similarly apply to the costs of chicken, oranges or whatever. The actual cost of the hourly wages of these laborers is a small percentage of the final price of these products at market.
Conversely, we've suffered a 50% increase in HISPANIC GANG CRIME during the last 3 years of Bush's administration and inept leadership.
Divide the number of apples picked by these criminals into the $50,000 plus per year it costs to educate their gang-banging, dope-peddling, criminal spawn, along with the thousands they steal in free health-care, Food-stamps, Welfare, Earned Income Tax Credit Checks, Housing Assistance, etc and then tell me what your apples cost Mr. "What Would Jesus Do?".
LOL!
What you said, broken up into a couple more paragraphs, please. ;^)
Don't expect to see Bush or any other politicians down there anytime soon, unless they left children behind they can give a big hug to for the cameras.
No chance for a photo-op = no show.
The adults are in charge, and they will continue to threaten us with jail and death if we don't pay for this madness.
Think about this.
We are paying the salaries of those people that are demanding that we pay for these millioins of illegal aliens out of our own pockets. In other words, our own leaders and politicians demand that we support this epic lawlessness with our hard earned money. This is almost to much to bear.
And now people want me to support those that have held a gun to my head, taking money out of my wallet to support illegal aliens? Cold day in hell.
This is just another scam as far as I'm concerned. Has anyone looked at the taxes already imposed on our phone services? Sometimes the taxes are more than the bill itself. People in California need to call the Governor on this one - he hasn't said a word about it, and all of us know that it's just another way of forcing us to pay for the medical care of illegal aliens who the newspapers refer to as "uninsured" Californians. In reality they are uninsured illegal aliens. ALL THESE BILLS SHOULD BE SENT TO VICENTE FOX, not California taxpayers/citizens.
Not living oin a state that borders Mexico, you might not get this. Our prices are not low. We pay through the ass in taxes for the health care for illegals. ER's are being shut down because hospitals cannot afford to keep running them as clinics for illegals. We pay for the welfare and education of their anchor babies. We should bleed out tax-wise so you can have cheap lettuce?
That said, I am still voting for Bush, though I will not nod my head like a robot and think everything he does is ok.
Just thought I'd reply so you could see my tagline!
Concurring Bump.
Foolish, idiotic statements like this prove many people have been hoodwinked, and suckered into believing this cheaper lettuce crap.
Bet this guy wont even respond to your post.
>>>President Bush, saying the United States should find a more humane way to treat immigrants....<<<
More humane!!?? MORE HUMANE!??? Let them go somewhere else and see what HUMANE means!!! Just so long as it doesn't mean more taxpayer funding of illegals and their extended families!!!
This is one issue where President Bush does not have my support at all. I'm with Michele Malkin on th is one!
GGRRRRRR.
<><
Bush just lost my vote. I thought he learned his lesson on this issue back the last time he brought it up.
The Libertarians just earned my vote. I will not ever vote for a dim but neither will I vote for a terrorist lover like Bush that wants to just let the whole world move in.
DEPORT ONLY!
Where do you think the pressure to appoint James Ziglar, the pro-open borders Libertarian, to head the INS prior to 9/11 came from?
That was just one of many swift moves by Bush.
I'll be voting for the Constitution Party, thank you very much.
