I work in health-care and have never had a flu shot either. I really agree with what most professionals are saying.....it's for the elderly and those at high risk. But like free government cheese, there are those who want something for nothing as long as the government is paying for it.</p>

Well, I'm not 40 yet and have had pneumonia 7 times already. Doc says that it is what will most likely end up killing me unless there are improvements in the existing vaccine. And yes, I have had the vaccine - but it is only effective for about 75% of the known strains of pneumonia. Got pneumonia again 7 months after the vaccine.
I normally get the shot every year 'cause I travel so much. I'm holding off this year - though not by choice and hoping that more vaccine will become available.
