BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Democratic Sen. John Edwards (news - web sites) accused President Bush (news - web sites) and Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) on Friday of manipulating facts and trying to frighten Americans in a desperate effort to win re-election.
Drawing the wrath of the vice presidential candidate was the latest ad from the Bush campaign that suggests the country would be vulnerable to terrorists if Democratic Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites) were elected president.
The commercial shows a dense forest and wolves resting on a hill. The animals stir and move forward, and an announcer says: "Weakness attracts those who are waiting to do America harm."
Speaking at a rally in this battleground state, Edwards said, "They have stooped so low now that they are using a pack of wolves running around a forest trying to scare you and trying to scare the American people."
"The president is continuing to try to scare America in his speeches and ads in a despicable and contemptible way. The American people are smarter than they think. They are going to see through all this," Edwards said.
The North Carolina senator said the ad was part of a pattern from Bush and Cheney in which they manipulate facts to fit their agenda.
In recent weeks, Edwards has filled the traditional role of the vice presidential candidate on the campaign trail, criticizing the opposition with no-holds-barred rhetoric.

nations flu vaccine at one time. They did this despite a very low profit
margin for the product. Basically, they were doing us a favor. In the late
80's a man from North Carolina who had received the vaccine got the flu.
The strain he caught was one of the strains in that years vaccine made by a
US company. What did he do? He sued and he won. He was awarded almost $5
million! After that case was appealed and lost, most US pharmaceutical
companies stopped making the vaccine. The liability out weighed the profit
margin. Since UK and Canadian laws prohibit such frivolous law suits UK and
Canadian companies began selling the vaccine in the US.
By the way...the lawyer that represented the man in the flu shot law suit
was a young ambulance chaser by the name of
"JOHN EDWARDS".

Of course the one time I met Kerry he glanced at my work boots, blue jeans and Bush for Presdient hat and got a look on his face like he was being contaminated by the mass unwashed.

You can't pin this on John Edwards. That link to the right has nothing to do with the person mentioned. There is no indication that this lawsuit had anything to do with Edwards, and it has nothing to do w/ someone getting infected by a flu shot. It's about an SEC violation -- Edwards doesn't do those to my knowledge.
