THE GUN FOLKS WONDER IF DELAWARE COULD SWING

Comments from John Sigler, NRA 2nd Vice President and lifelong hunter, appearing on NRANews.com:

[On his hunting trip] Kerry s identified himself as a fake and a fraud.

It was very much in line with his comments about earlier in the year crawling around on his belly and carrying around his trusty double barrel shotgun. No hunter talks that way.

He’s vote hunting. I think it offended some people on our side. People who may not know he voted against us 51 times, and who has voted to close off acres and acres of public land in California from hunting. This guy is a phony.

Might have hurt him with his tree-hugging, bunny friends, his bunny-hugger friends. I suspect the PETA people may be less than happy with him. I wonder if we’ll see them voting for the Green Party or something.

It’s a good day for firearms owners when we’re not the issue.

Unions had attempted to tell their members he was one of them - they know now he’s an elitist. He’s not one of them. He’s not like you and me, going to work every day, and

Delaware is supposed to be in the Kerry column, but I’m being told that may not be the case. Speaking to union members and telling them you have to vote freedom first — if you lose that freedom, you’ll never get it back.

Cam Edwards of NRA News notes that the two most recent polls show Kerry by 7 and Kerry by 9, conducted more than a month ago. Gore carried that state by 13 percentage points in 2000.

I bet Biden would be very embarrassed.

I be he would be struck dumb -- or maybe brain dead.

Lock & Load.... "I'd rather be judged by 12, than carried by 6"!!! Us gun owners & hunters see right through this... hopefully more of the swing states can see this for what it is.

Save for RINO Mike Castle, Delaware hasn't voted Republican in a statewide election for 10 years or so... I doubt it will this time...

I hope and pray this is the case. I was born and raised in northern Delaware, and my county (New Castle County), which is the most populous, is the "blue part" of the state. Kent and Sussex are the "red part." I hope the weather is bad so all the DUmmies stay home.

Craploads of retirees have been moving to Sussex County the last 10 years...wonder if they 1) lean Republican and 2) will eventually make a differences.

From what I know, a lot of them are federal government retirees from DC.

A lot of them are from Pennsylvania..I'd say more from PA than from the DC area.

Delaware is pretty Democrat, but many are quite conservative Democrats.

I've spent a fair amount of time in Delaware. The people there may vote Democrat, but for the most part they are fairly conservative on social issues and most of the state is very rural.

The problem is that most of the people live in northern Delaware, and most of them vote Democrat. Delaware is like a microcosm of the entire country - blue in the north, red in the south.

The liberals are all in the Wilmington area (which is basically a Philly suburb), you drive 20 miles south and it is a totally different culture. I think that's why they had Roth as a senator for so long. It's a neat state, but you couldn't pay me to live there. They have no sales tax, but a really high income tax and the effects of this are very clear.

The answers are:

1. Yes

2. No

I'm about 5 miles from southern Delaware and I listen to a DE radio station (Rehobeth). The local talks shows are very Republican.

Problem is, there are just too many RATs in northern DE. Too many.

Welcome from a fellow native, now living in firmly BLUE New York City. When I was living their it was much more conservative than it is today. I miss my old state.

Jane Brady, Donna Williams, and Janet Rznicki (sorry, Jan, I never could spell your name correctly) all come to mind as statewide Republicans.........and women, no less.

Jane is still AG, Donna is not running for re-election as Insurance Commissioner, and Janet lost to thecurrent State Treasurer after winning several times.

Contrary to popular belief, not everyone in Delaware is braindead.

Unfortunately, John is wishing in the wind, bless his heart. Kerry will take it..........but I doubt Ruth Ann will get his coattails.
