we are at war. In time of war, civil rights and even constitutional rights can be suspended

This statement presumes that war is a temporary thing as it has been in the past. And after that war is over, constitutional rights suspended for the duration of that war will be restored in full, correct?

My question to you is: What theoretical conditions must be met in order for the War on Terrorism to be declared over?

I submit that because the WoT is not a traditional style war, and by definition is a war against a method and not a tangible object such as a country(s), person(s), or army(s), it cannot be won. Even the president has stated the war will last several decades. And after a generation, restoring constitutional protections will be as unrealistic as repealing the income tax.

Because of this, WoT exceptions to the constitution are far more damaging to our rights than traditional wars. They must be considered in an entirely different way.

Sorry for the delay in my reply.

You've made some good points. Yes we must be extremely careful about curtailing freedoms and rights.

When will the WoT be won? When Islam has been eradicated from the earth.

As far as curtailing freedoms, Islam is the enemy and muslims have vowed to kill us so any muslims need to be looked at closely. If they're rights are violated so be it.

I'm not saying curtailing rights for everyone, just muslims. If they don't like it, they are free to leave. They attacked us so let them reap what they've sown.

I know you'll not agree with my point of view so let me ask you, how do you propose we protect ourselves from this evil death cult?
