It's typical of them to be hypocritical simultaneously. In 2002 they wanted to replace Torricelli on the ballot in New Jersey in the name of voter choice while arguing in Hawaii to keep Patsy Mink on the ballot in the name of voter choice.

You're right. They do seem desperate about Jersey. I'm sure the dems. do not believe their own rhetoric about the voting machines. They are creating confusion by any means necessary. Jersey has already used the computerized voting in previous elections (not presidential). I don't think Bush has much hope of winning there. I think he is more hoping to force Kerry to spend time and resources there to divert him from ohio and florida. seems to be working well.
we have a better chance in NJ, then PA. it may sound nuts, but it isn't. the unpopular governor in NJ is mobilizing GOP voters, and in the parts of NJ where people live near/commute to Manhattan - 9/11 is a huge issue. Bush needs to campaign with Rudy in those areas ASAP.
A bit late to switch, isn't it? Why don't the Democrats just come out of the closet and sue to end representative government?
I think Bush can win without either NJ or PA. Rudy was in Jersey a week or so ago. Cheney, Laura Bush and now George have done Jersey. They seem to be putting a lot of attention on jersey. Kerry has been forced to spend time and money on PA and I imagine next week he'll have to go into jersey. Then Bush can clean up on ohio and florida.
Surprisingly 9/11 seems to have more of an effect in other parts of the country. I was here in nyc on 9/11 and me and the people I know don't really politicize it very much. Out of towners get more worked up about it.
I predict FL computer voting will prove to be the Dems undoing in FL. It's extremely difficult to game those systems when there is no central server, not that they won't try but the confirmation of registration and voter card counts will make 11th hour ballot stuffing very difficult this year.
IF this model holds, Bush should you use major political clout to institute computer voting nationwide.
