Well, I for one liked the old style of the pageant. The ones way back when with the talent, 1 piece swimsuit, and someone like Bert Parks were more interesting. They changed everything for the "skin" look and families did not like that. I can remember when Jan and I would watch it together. We even liked the baton twirling! When they got rid of the old routines, the pageant went downhill. They did it to get younger viewers but that did not happen as the ratings showed. I guess we were more pageant people since Jan was into them when she was a toddler-6 years old. She was also a Winnie the Pooh model for our local Sears store. Actually, both girls were WTP models. The older one loved the mannequin modeling where the girls were put in a scene looking like a mannequin. It really changed over the years and we were not as interested in the new hosts, etc.

Living mannequins are fascinating.
