Nope. McClintock is seen as a puritanical, uncompromising ranting kook who's accomplished nothing in all his years of legislative service. Jones has many problems: he flip-flopped from Bush to McCain last minute before the CA 2000 primary, he authored for the largest tax increase in state history, he was a lame Secretary of State, came in 3rd behind Simon & Reardon in the 2002 gubernatorial primary, he's an inept campaigner and the first debate was a mammoth disaster of sweating and stumbling.
