Giambi is heading downhill and yes, they are stuck with some huge contracts. The core of that team, Posada, Williams, Jeter, Petite, Rivera weren't bought players. They were scouted well and developed. key players like O'Neil, Knobloch, Nelson, Stanton were acquired but with smart thinking. Matsui has been great but A-Rod was a dumb move just to spite the Sox and Brown was also a desperation move.

Cashmen is great but steinbrenner is his own worst enemy and the team will be paying that bill for years to come. He is repeating his mistakes from the 80's all over again.

Giambi was injured the last two seasons. He'll be back and he'll make a difference next year. And if you want good players on your team, you have to pay the price. In NYCity, that means paying extra to get the best talent around.

You're preaching to the choir.

Like I said, what hurt the Yanks this season, especially in the playoffs was startring pitching. The Yanks will get two quality starters for next season and maybe try to fill secondbase with a higher caliber player then Cairo. If they get Beltran for CF, Bernie will go DH full time.

The Yanks will be fine.
