BAD NEWS FROM FLORIDA: I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who travelled down to Florida to work for the GOP at the polls. He's monitoring the early voting in southern Florida and he says it's a zoo. There's very little Republican presence monitoring the voting, while Democrats are out in force at the early voting stations. He reports that Democratic thugs are blocking parking access for clearly Republican voters, and there has been at least one incident involving a shotgun. My friend, who's got quite a bit of campaign experience and grew up in Florida, sounded dejected about the GOPs efforts thus far.

Well, I'm still waiting for an answer to where in Fl. this happened.
Yeah, decals and stickers seem to be jerk-magnets.
I just spoke to my brother outside Ft. Lauderdale. He said that the intimidation was probably true- but only in a few places, like inner city areas. He said that his wife voted near work this morning in a heavily democrat area. There were many K signs and stickers, and no Bush, but no obvious harrassment. Of course, she had no bumper sticker. He also said that anyone intimidated can go back later. There are many 72 hour volunteers there, but they won't start until nearer 11/2. As he said, most Republicans work! Those who couldn't vote earlier will have a better chance then. He also said that the area outside the cities is much more conservative.
Well, my Bush/Cheney and W'04 bumper stickers give me away ;^)
Plus I've got my car flag and my "God Bless America" sticker :)

I got this email from the Florida B/C Headquarters this afternoon:

Early voting has begun and the election is upon us...
Unfortunately, as the early voting period has started so have reports of voter intimidation and questionable electioneering. Numerous Bush supporters have contacted our Florida headquarters to report aggressive and hostile activity at and inside polling places by Kerry supporters and their allies.
The best way to stop this behavior is to simply report it. So don't let the Democrats get away with this.
We want to bring sunshine to the voting process and we're asking for your help. Don't let the Democrats discourage you. Vote early. It's important. And when you do- if you see or experience this type of conduct- please contact us immediately at 1-866-610-2020 or e-mail FairVote@GeorgeWBush.com.

A cell phone, especially one that can take pictures, is your best weapon against voter fraud right now.
