I just got this email from the Bush Cheney '04 campaign. I linked to a copy of the letter on the Bush Cheney '04 website.

I've always been a fan of Ernie Banks. And now to find out he's voting for President Bush!
Go, Cubs!
{{{and no, you can't have my autographed 8x10 glossy of him that I stood in line for hours to get}}}

I'm proud of the athletes and the letter they wrote.
Kind of difficult to read the signatures though.

This is a classy group of people- no doubt about it. Not a bad one in the bunch. Winners picking winners! I guess I am going to have to start liking Lynn Swann now.

A little slap at Foudy, the soccer player who attacked the president and blamed him for an anti american mood at the Olympics.
Of course being arab couldn't have possibly colored her interpretation, now could it!

Todd Walker?!?!!?!?! ROTFLMAO!! God love him, but his name looks a weeeeee bit out of place on this list, don't you think? What, was John Valentin not available? How about Omar Infante? And I can't believe that they could do this without getting Kyle Lohse to join them.

we have identified the values necessary to compete and win--values like personal strength, determination, a sense of fair play and faith. . . . a set of values that are anethema to the present day Democrat party.

It is intersting how so many athletes support bush compared to hollywood liberal types. This is likely due to the fact that in athletics, you are judged solely on your performance, and not based on your race, income level, etc. It is the free market at work. These guys worked for what they have and they understand that if they fail, it is due to themselves, and not to some vast right wing conspiracy.
