THE MAINSTREAM media are scared or brainwashed, so this column must march into the breach, reporting the good news at Sinclair Broadcast Group that all the other journalists are ignoring.

The Hunt Valley-based chain has prompted national scrutiny by planning to air portions of a polemic on John Kerry's opposition to the Vietnam War on many of its 62 stations.

Shareholders Push Sinclair to Amend Plans

Excerpt follows:

_______________________________________

Meanwhile, a lawyer said he planned to sue on behalf of shareholders, alleging insider trading by top executives as well as damage from the decision to air the film. Media Matters, a media advocacy group, announced it was underwriting the costs of a shareholder action demanding equal time for opposing views.

The company did not directly address the insider trading accusation, but CEO David Smith said executives "have endured personal attacks of the vilest nature."

Eighteen senators, all Democrats, wrote last week to the Federal Communications Commission to ask it to investigate Sinclair's plans. The agency declined to intervene.

New York Comptroller Alan Hevesi, also a Democrat, sent a letter expressing concern to Sinclair on behalf of the state's pension fund, which owns shares in the broadcasting company.

Sinclair stock has dropped to less than $7 a share, from a high of more than $15 a share in January.

Two groups offered programs Tuesday to Sinclair to air in response to its news special. California philanthropist Deborah Rappaport and her husband offered to pay for an hour of air time for the documentary "Going Upriver," a positive portrayal of Kerry's service in Vietnam, before the Nov. 2 election day.

Mother Jones Magazine offered Sinclair a half-hour video of four prominent Republicans -- including John Dean and Pete Peterson -- condemning the Bush administration.

I'll ask my son to check for it - thanks -

I'm just shocked that we have no good leaders today - someone should be speaking out about all these repugnant attacks done by the Socialist Democrats and Foreigners like Soros -

This is not the nation it once was - when voices stay silent during these times - it destroys the fibers that held this nation together for so long

just an opinion - I do believe the people have an out - it is in the Constitution - perhaps that day is coming -

Thanks for the info.

The Cold War may be over but the followers of marxism are deeply entrenched in this country:

See this:

Unholy Alliance

by David Horowitz
Hardcover - (September 2004) - $27.95

In this tour de force on the most important issue of our time, David Horowitz, confronts the paradox of how so many Americans, including the leadership of the Democratic Party, could turn against the War on Terror. He finds an answer in a political Left that shares a view of America as the “Great Satan” with America’s radical Islamic enemies. In a remarkable exploration of the “Mind of the Left,” Horowitz traces the evolution of American radicalism from its Communist past to its “anti-war” present. He then shows how this Left was able to turn the Democratic Party presidential campaign around and reshape its views on the War on Terror.

You know - papers were signed at the end of WWII - but not by everyone -

The Socialist never give in - they find other ways to achieve the goal -

in my opinion -

Will look for the book when I go for the new one out about how to talk to a liberal - Thanks -

The MSM reminds me of the story about a guy who jumped off a sinking ship ( I think it was the Titanic ) with a suitcase full of gold. He was never seen again, the weight of the gold drug him under because he wouldn't let go. In this case the bag of gold is leftism. All the MSM has to do to save themselves is to let go of the bag, but they won't.

The Democrat Party is the trial lawyer Party. The Libertarian Party is the other trial lawyer Party.

As far as I know, Sinclair is still planning on airing it.

...anyone have news to the contrary?

And if Sinclair airs it, Sinclair will be tops in our eyes.

Let's all buy Sinclair stock!

Why not? It's at a low. It's good for October's economic indicators to make some purchases this week or next, and Sinclair has the right ideas.

I think I can spring for 10 shares, through a discount broker.

At the last minute, Sinclair Broadcasting has reshuffled the broadcast schedule for their program on "Stolen Honor" and they are now calling it "A POW Story: Politics, Pressure and the Media".
