For those of us in the other 49 states, could you give us a few reasons why he is doing poorly?

He is a mild-mannered stuttering ineffective speaker. I am embarassed that we don't have a stronger candidate. She is palpably stupid.

How can you lose a debate to a woman who believes Osama is busy building day care centers?

Sorry to hear that. We have the invisible Bill Jones (I think that's his name) running against the abominable Boxer here in California. Does anyone have any theories as to why the Republicans run such pathetic candidates against these stupid women?

Murray does seem like she should be an awfully easy target. I thought Nethercutt was more effective than that.

Is it that Nethercutt is fearful of taking conservative positions in such a liberal state as WA, or is it that Nethercutt really has no conservative core to begin with? "Moderate" Republicans often fare poorly in debate because they have no consistent philosophy. Imagine if that were Ann Coulter debating Mrs. Murray!

In Jim DeMint's case, he seemed fearful of liberalism even in SC in his "Meet the Press" debate last Sunday.

This is the stupidest debate I think I have ever seen.

Actually, I believe that I read once that Mr. Nethercutt may have a speech impediment, but I could be wrong of course. Nethercutt was once an aide to the liberal Republican Sen. Ted Stevens of AK, who probably influences still Nethercutt's political thinking.

True he is mild mannered, but I don't see that as a negative (so he's not Zell Miller). I was just watching them, and I don't know why anyone would re-elect her! What a sour puss! I pray he will come out the winner in the end, though I'm afraid the "palpably stupid" people in my state will re-elect her.

I think we don't have anyone grilling these candidates. Telling them, "Stop stuttering! Speak in sentences so you can be understood!" SOMEBODY talked to Patty.

Patty is sitting there with a flat, hostile stare. Unfortunately, that will go over well with the women in the Seattle area.

I just turned it on and am listening to the stem cell research. In the split screen, Osama Mama Murray looked like a dunce and somewhat bored and like she didn't want to be there, but, she as other Dims, have been coached well and they can spew facts and lies and seem almost credible (to those who don't know better).

Unfortunately, she'll probably win (though Nethercutt signs have been up for some time - -have just recently seen Murray signs poping up here and there).

Nethercutt has done just fine (televised on C-SPAN 2) - unless you like Murray blaming everything, including the flu vaccine shortage, on tax cuts ...

Just checking in on this contest, I can't watch the Yankee embarassment any more.

Go George!

Even this un-fan of sports is a bit caught up in the Sox miracle. It is grand. The Yankees, who with their large media market, can afford to buy talent to get the edge, need to punished, and then punished some more, and then have Spitzer sic-ed on them.

By the way, Speaking of Spitzer, the insurance industry scandal is just mind boggling. Marsh and McLennon, the largest insurance brokerage firm in the world, and the owner of the corrupt and rapacious and predatory, and heavily fined high load, high expense, Putnam funds, might go the way of Arthur Anderson. I am rooting that they do. Screw em, and then screw em some more.

Hate to say it...Patty's "GENTLEMEN" was brilliant for her voter base...I noted that, too...no other women. Her base is all the Dem women in the Puget Sound area.
