Sorry Anus... Your party is suffering from "the Little Boy who Cried Wolf Syndrome."

Lets go through the LITNEY of "Scandals" that the left has tried to bring against George Bush and his family over the years - and why they have failed to have the effect the libs want...

1. He was an alcoholic and perhaps used drugs through the late 70's

- Like everybody else who lived through the 60's and 70's... Regardless, he clearly ISNT abusing drugs and alcohol anymore, he has turned his life around, and the country doesn't hold it against him... just like the country didn't hold Clinton's admitted drug use against him.

2. Hes a member of the spooky Skull & Bones Society, which has weird rituals and a lot of "powerful" members

- Many people belonged to fraternities in college... They all have weird rituals... None of us want to be judged by what we did on the weekend in College... The fact that the most selective fraternity at the most prestigious college in the U.S would have many of its members go on to prominent lives is a "DUH"...

3. He dodged the draft by joining the national Guard.

you guys tried this with Quayle... It didn't work then... How could you possibly think it work AFTER Bill Clinton who LITERALLY DODGED THE DRAFT by running off to England and burning his draft card, was elected for two terms?

4. He had a DUI 15 years ago.

-See #1 above. Plus the timing of the release STUNK!

5. He had a meeting with Enron before they went bankrupt.

- A president who didn't have contact with the nations largest energy provider would be DERALICT. And despite the "ties" and "the Meetings", and "the corporate welfare", Enron went belly up ANYWAYS... I.e. the president didn't step in to save them...

6. He didn't rush back to the white house on September 11.

IT was a target... "DUH".

7. Dick Cheney was running a "Shadow Government" from a bunker. It didn't include members of congress.

- We were UNDER ATTACK. We had been hit not only on September 11, but by Anthrax in October. The Pentagon had been hit. The chance that the White House would be a target was very high, which could CRIPPLE the Executive branch of government... The executive branch of government is NEEDED to respond to an attack... They have the launch codes... They are the top of military command... Sorry Congress, you aren't THAT important... in the case of an attack on the U.S. government, that pork barrel spending bill can wait until we can gin up some replacements from the State Legislatures...

8. Michael Moore.

Michael Moore is a big fat stupid white man. Besides that, he protests the president TOO much. He has lost his credibility because he's so one sided and over the top. Once you pull the thread, his whole, big, fat, house of cards unravels... leaving an obvious second rate hit peice that inspres NOBODY but people who are inclined to beleive them because of their politics.

9. No WMD.

We thought they had them... you thought they had them... France thought they had them... Given that its the choice of Act, or wait... The President acted... Good Enough for us. Was the intelligence bad... Maybe... Does it need to be fixed? You BET! But the guys who broke the CIA in the 90's aren't the ones to fix it NOW... Plus, although "Stockpiles" of wmd haven't been found, Individual rounds of chemical weapons HAVE been found... This war was never about preventing the wholesale use of WMD against neighbors... It was about keeping such weapons from terrorists. How hard is it to smuggle a shell with Serin into America? And how many would it take in YOUR building's ventalation system to ruin YOUR day?

10. Bush was AWOL.

- As yet there is no proof of this charge. Plus, anybody who knows anybody who has served in the NG reserve knows that drills are sometimes canceled or of such a nature that the guardsmen might not see each other too often... Regardless, he served, he flew fighters, he never burned his draft card all beyond what Clinton did... That's good enough... the rest is just chaff.

11. Bush's Grandfather was a Nazi Sympathizer...

- We have a long history in this country of NOT blaming people for what their parents did... let alone what their GRANDPARENTS did... The fact that you would bring it up shows your motivations... It's all about smearing the President of the United States so that you can win the election for your guy.

12. Bush Was AWOL, and we have memos to prove it!

- Whoops.... This is the big one... After this, NOTHING you can bring up will stick... You FORGED DOCUMENTS... You've BLOWN IT!!! Your credibility is SHOT... You could produce ANYTHING now and America would say "Enough already...." Add to this Dick Clark, and Paul O' Neill, the two people fired from the administration and how they were heralded as the saints of Washington... Or walk into a Barnes & Nobles and look at the racks and racks and racks of books devoted to "getting Bush" and what it adds up to is YOU'VE GONE OVERBOARD!. You want to get this president "sooooooooo bad", that you broke the first rule... You didn't wait til you had the goods on him... You threw everything against the wall HOPING against hope that something would stick, but it never did... why? Because the American people are SMARTER than you think they are... They know a hit job when they see one. You were so eager to vindicate Clinton, that you didn't wait til you had Bush in a real scandal... So you made them up... Plus, in your defense of the Lewinsky affair you set the bar so low for Clinton, of what was acceptable behavior, that it remains that low for all future presidents. Unless a President is caught strangling his wife with his bare hands in front of a room full of witnesses (because you could photo shop a picture) there is no scandal that will "shock" to the degree you want.

Not to mention not blaming them for things that didn't happen! :) One of Bush's relatives invested in the German economy before Hitler came to power, as part of the attempt to save Europe's economy after World War I and hopefully prevent Europe from sliding into another war (which unfortunately didn't work because the stock market crash intervened). That's a far cry from being a Nazi sympathizer--but that hasn't stopped the anti-Bush smear machine from following Lyndon LaRouche's lead in spreading this myth around the Internet.
