PITTSBURGH, Oct. 20 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Teresa Heinz Kerry released the following statement today:

"I had forgotten that Mrs. Bush had worked as a school teacher and librarian, and there couldn't be a more important job than teaching our children. As someone who has been both a full time mom and full time in workforce, I know we all have valuable experiences that shape who we are. I appreciate and honor Mrs. Bush's service to the country as First Lady, and am sincerely sorry I had not remembered her important work in the past."

Does anyone know what part of the workforce this mental midget worked in? She is so proud of whatever it was that she never mentions it.

Before she married John Heinz .. she worked for the UN as a translator

Yes, she was a translator for the United Nations. I'm not sure I want a first lady who worked for the United Nations, do you? Between her background and her husband's statement that he would rather see US serviceman die for the UN that the US, I think they're a dangerous duo.

"Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good," Heinz Kerry said. "But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up. So her experience and her validation comes from important things, but different things."

Heinz Kerry said she sees her age as a benefit — she is 66 and Bush 57. "I'm older, and my validation of what I do is a little bit bigger — because I'm older, and I've had different experiences. And it's not a criticism of her. It's just, you know, what life is about," she said.

Q: You'd be different from Laura Bush?

A: Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good. But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up. So her experience and her validation comes from important things, but different things. And I'm older, and my validation of what I do and what I believe and my experience is a little bit bigger — because I'm older, and I've had different experiences. And it's not a criticism of her. It's just, you know, what life is about.

Okay ... she says she forgot the 1st Lady did work and is sincerely sorry.

But, the comment THK made was an attempt to slam Laura to get sKerry some votes - plain and simple. It was THK's way of trying to make Laura Bush look bad.

The whole thing is just disgusting. She might apologize but she should be held accountable for her actions.

I wouldn't want a first lady that would admit to working for the corrupt UN!

Haven't read down far enough. Sorry if I am duplicating a thought.

Does this mean if Kerry wins that teachers won't be important anymore?

When Teresa speaks, Kerry needs to duck for cover.
