The only reason Canada, Australia and India are independent today is because Americans demonstrated through force of arms that the UK would be better off letting colonies go when they wanted to.

Quoting embarrassing nonsense from this senile old geezer is unnecessary. He should be totally ignored by sensible people.

The entire Carter presidency was unnecessary. Too bad we couldn't have avoided it, as well.

The American Revolution wasn't necessary according to Carter because the patriots didn't have Carter to negotiate one of his infamous treaties for them. OOOOOhhhh, ppuuhhlleeeaaaassseeee!!!!

Visualize Carter's failed presidency to the beat of the Bee Gees "Stayin' Alive" song.

Well, one parallel is that the Revolutionary War, more than any other war up until recently, has been the most bloody war we've fought.

Further proof that high IQ does not equall simple common sense.
The first idiot,savant president.

An ex-president who is ignorant of the history of his own country?
The Civil War was our bloodiest war ever. Even lower school students know that!

Thank goodness he wasn't around at the time of the Revolution in a position of power.

Good Lord - I didn't click on the story yesterday because I thought it was a parody. He really said this stuff?

Jimmuh's been sniffing the paint thinner again.

Carter had extensive ties to the Rev. Jim Jones, which tells you what type of person he is.

"we would have been a free country now as is Canada"

Newsflash for you Carter: Canada is no bastion of freedom, and what freedom we have was not gained without violence.

In 1837 there was a short and unsucessfull rebellion up here for more freedom. Although the rebellion failed to overthrow the undemocratic oiligarchy, it did spook them into making some modest reforms, just enough to keep the rabble from rebellion any further. Not much has changed since then.
