TERESA: TEACHING ISN'T A 'REAL JOB' [10/20 12:19 PM]

From USA Today interview with Teresa Heinz Kerry:

Q: You'd be different from Laura Bush? A: Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good. But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up.

What arrogance. Stunning, unmitigated arrogance!

From the White House:

Inspired by her second grade teacher, she earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Southern Methodist University in 1968. She then taught in public schools in Dallas and Houston. In 1973 she earned a master of library science degree from the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a public school librarian in Austin [until 1977].

Hey, teachers, librarians: Teresa Heinz Kerry says your work isn't a "real job"!

We can't all be ketchup heiresses, you know.

I think she is a "Not a good woman" just like Mrs Cheney described Kerry.

What a f'ing b*tch. When sKerry loses, he can lay some of the blame squarely on the b*tch he married. (If he loses by a point or two, he can justifiably blame it entirely on her.)

If he should happen to win, I hope we can look forward to airborne lamps in the White House again.

First Lady Laura Bush extrudes a certain class, hard to describe, but commonly seen in Ladies raised in the southern portion of our beautiful country. I ain't got the book learn'n to write about it, but I knows when I sees it.

(Miss Barnett, wherever you are please forgive)

"It's not a real job, because to us it isn't work at all. We just love doing it!"

I agree with this statement. I have the best job in the world as a teacher. I love seeing the kids learn to read and write and the excitement when they learn something new or as they change. I love to be able to aid in some small way in making a kids' life better.

Laura Bush is one classy person. It's evident that she and her husband share something special. Mrs. Heinz-Kerry does offend me in making that statement. If I was just voting by first lady, I would definitely vote for the former. What I get more offended by is those politicians who use education as their punching bag (especially some who have really don't spend any time in classrooms) to push their own agendas. And I'm really getting tired of hearing people and teachers complain about things. I would love to have the opportunity to have a kid to raise and have in school, but I don't have that luxury. I settle for teaching others' kids and doing the best job that I can with them.
