TERESA: TEACHING ISN'T A 'REAL JOB' [10/20 12:19 PM]
From USA Today interview with Teresa Heinz Kerry:
Q: You'd be different from Laura Bush? A: Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good. But I don't know that she's ever had a real job I mean, since she's been grown up.
What arrogance. Stunning, unmitigated arrogance!
From the White House:
Inspired by her second grade teacher, she earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Southern Methodist University in 1968. She then taught in public schools in Dallas and Houston. In 1973 she earned a master of library science degree from the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a public school librarian in Austin [until 1977].
Hey, teachers, librarians: Teresa Heinz Kerry says your work isn't a "real job"!
We can't all be ketchup heiresses, you know.

"Oh, so now, FR supports teachers?"
Good question, but rereading the #1 post, I am thinking beyond the occupation of teacher to just the act of teaching or role modeling. Teachers surround us in all walks of life and all points of life. Mothers and fathers try to be the first teachers of a child, grand parents, too.
And most here know the difference between a real "teacher" in public, private, or home school and a slacker protected by union rules. In this case, as stainlessbanner wrote, we have a real First Lady who is still a teacher.

Dear 2ndreconmarine,
"Maybe we need bumper stickers: Anna Nicole Smith for first lady."
Anna is smarter, has more personality, is a little less nutty.

And Stay at home moms have been offended. Taking care of your children is not a real job, in Mama T's drugged out thinking. Amen to that. The nerve. If she keeps vomiting on the voters with her loose-cannon mouth it may bring the poll numbers down to 25% on Election Day.

This may be the most offensive things said so far in this campaign. I would run a commercial on this in every swing state. This is absolutely stunning.

What an incredible picture.
Is this really Vannessa Kerry????
I would love to see it as a billboard ad, captioned maybe with:
Your possible next first tramp, er, first daughter.
or:
First Daughter, Vanessa Kerry, showing American diplomacy abroad.
Better yet, make a poster of this and send it to all of the troops in Iraq, with a tagline: John Kerry knows how to support the troops!
Delicious.
To: Clump
Dear Clump,
Maybe. But don't you think the MSM would compare it to the Mary Cheney remarks?
Is it possible it's better to let this percolate through the Internet?
Maybe a 527 will pick up on it.

You're welcome.
Imagine how our kids would all turn out if they all had teachers such as our First Lady Laura in schools.

This is worse than the Mary Cheney remarks. It is a totally unfounded and hypocritical insult to a very well liked first lady. There is no comparison. If this catches some steam it will carry us through the election. Believe it.

Now he has it as the headline on his page - in big screaming letters,
To: Clump
Dear Clump,
Ms. H-K-Whatever's remarks are certainly out of bounds.
But what would the MSM say if the Bush campaign ran ads with this interview? Would they not say that it's an attack on Mr. Kerry's poor beleagured wife?
I think it would be better left to a 527, or failing that, to the Internet.
