I bet the NEA just LOVED that one!!
Hahahahaaa!!
Teresa Heinz-Kerry and Mother Theresa - polar opposites with the same first name. One devoted to advancing her own wealth through use of her bedroom skills, the other devoted to advancing the cause of humanity, human dignity and the work of God.

Now let's all calm down here - what Mrs. Heinz-Kerry is saying is perfectly consistent with other aspects of her husband's campaign, specifically his claims regarding the 'net loss' of jobs during the first 3 1/2 years of the Bush administration. Doesn't Kerry use a report that excludes people like teachers, librarians, and self-employed entrepreneurs from the group of people he considers to have 'a job'.
Frankly, I give Mrs. Heinz-Kerry, and the Kerry-Edwards campaign, credit for their consistency on this important issue.
(Now, let me see if I can get my wonderful Democrat sister, who is a teacher, to go try and claim unemployment benefits based on this logic.)

Any word on how DU is handling this? Or are their collective heads in some dark recess (per usual)?

Have a raisin, Teresa.

Do one of you know who are the keepers of the home-schooler and public school ping lists, if so please ping.
This is also a definite MOM type story.
This woman gives moms a bad name.

Thanks.
I just felt this needed to be seen by both groups because it is a slam at home schoolers and those of us who send our children to public school.

[She] just lost the librarian vote... She may have, indeed, lost some support in the library community. In 2000, the Texas Library Association invited her to address their annual conference in Houston (she didn't show up because bad weather grounded her flight from Austin, so I had to listen to Juan Williams instead). Although the library profession trends liberal-left, Laura Bush enjoys a degree of popularity within it.

Insane, indeed!
Some of her other comments have been bad, but I really think this is by far the worst.
I know my daughter's teachers have real jobs, I'm sure you feel the same about your children's teacher, and I know our friends that home school also have real jobs.
This comment is so insulting to me, not just because she insulted the First Lady, but insulted everyone who wishes a good education for their children.
